UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE MEN’S HOCKEY
PROUD SUPPORTER OF UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE MEN’S ICE HOCKEY
The University of Delaware Men’s Hockey Booster Club (the “Booster Club”) is the official hockey booster organization for the University of Delaware Blue Hens ice hockey team and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation (application pending). The Booster Club was organized in 2009 by a group of hockey parents and team alumni for the sole purpose providing moral and financial support for UD men’s hockey and to provide a social atmosphere for its members.
Since the University provides limited financial support for the team and the program, the organizers felt that it was necessary to establish a formal organization that could supplement the University’s financial contribution. The Booster Club raises funds through memberships, sale of merchandise, a dinner/auction, an annual golf tournament, 50/50 raffles and various other fundraisers.
A Booster Club membership will help pay for many things essential to the success of the team. This includes equipment, team travel expenses and coaching salaries.
It is the hope that Booster Club membership becomes the largest fundraiser. Becoming a member of the Booster Club is a great way for UD hockey fans to contribute to the hockey program. Benefits to our members include a monthly newsletter, game day socials and hospitality room admittance, discounts on team merchandise and free admission to the annual awards’ banquet.
The Booster Club holds an annual business meeting at which time officers and board members are elected. Officers include a president, treasurer and secretary. Members are urged to serve on various committees such as golf tournament, membership, merchandise fundraising and team travel.
